NEW Thanks for Caring Website
Albertans can now say thanks to those people who cared for them or their family members through the Thanks for Caring website.
This new website, thanksforcaring.ca allows posts of gratitude for care or support received from any person working in any role, at any AHS site. Messages can be personalized with various expressions including emojis!
NEW Values: AHS Cares
Last month, Dr. Verna Yiu, AHS President and CEO, unveiled the new AHS values. These values will guide our actions and behaviours as we work to achieve our vision: Healthy Albertans. Healthy Communities. Together.
New Ethics Committee Member
The ACH Ethics Committee is presently recruiting a new volunteer for the role of Parent Representative.
- You have experience as a parent of an ACH patient (inpatient and/or outpatient),
- You have an interest in ethical issues in healthcare, and
- You would like to participate as a working committee member at ACH in:
- ethics consultations
- ethics awareness and education
- enhancing the ethical climate

Family Advisory Council and CAYAC Recruitment Opportunities
The Family Advisory Council and the Child and Youth Advisory Council (CAYAC) are recruiting new members for the fall.
The Family Advisory Council is looking for parents or families of children currently accessing services at ACH. This group meets on the third Tuesday of each month from 7-9 pm to consult with ACH's staff on the work of the hospital.
CAYAC is focusing on recruiting 12-14 year olds who have personal healthcare experience or are a sibling of patient of ACH. This group meets six times a year on Saturdays.
